No. We probe the mail server using the SMTP handshake protocol and stop before any message is delivered. Your recipients never know a check happened.
Risky means the mail server exists but we couldn't fully confirm the mailbox — usually because the server requires authentication before accepting RCPT TO, or the domain accepts all addresses (catch-all). Sending to risky addresses may work, but there's a higher chance of soft bounce.
